What is TAO?

TAO is a real-time implementation of CORBA developed at Washington University, St. Louis and University of California, Irvine. TAO is an open source ORB and may be freely used. More information about TAO that is not specific to C++Builder may be obtained from the official TAO web site.

Where can I get pre-built binaries?

Pre-built binaries for TAO 1.0.12 are included on the C++Builder 5 Companion Tools CD. For more recent versions (recommended!) you will have to build it yourself.

What versions of C++Builder are supported?

C++Builder 4 with the first or second updates applied, C++Builder 5, and C++Builder 6. The free Borland C++ 5.5 compiler may also be used.

Can I get commercial support for TAO?

Commercial support is available from several different companies. Free peer support is available via mailing lists and newsgroups.
